Rok 2025 był dość specyficznym rokiem dla branży growej. Tytuły wysokobudżetowe radziły sobie w ostatnich miesiącach… solidnie, ale bez przesady, zaś co do produkcji indie… no ich praktycznie nie było. Sytuacje wykorzystały tzw. gry środka, czyli coś na wzór kinematograficznego indiewood, a mianowicie tytuły, realizowane przez ograniczone liczebnie ekipy złożone z byłych pracowników wytwórni-molochów, którzy ewentualne niedostatki budżetowe maskują przy pomocy artystycznego zacięcia. Jak pokazała sama gala – takie podejście jak najbardziej się opłaca!

Największym zwycięzcą The Game Awards 2025 okazało się być (a jakże) Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Zaskoczony tym werdyktem nie był chyba absolutnie nikt.

Innymi słowy – Clair Obscur zdominowało 9 z 11 kategorii, w których zostało nominowane, stając się tym samym nie tylko najczęściej nagradzanym tytułem gali, ale i całego roku.
To ten moment, w którym wszyscy udajemy zaskoczenie. Sukces Clair Obscur pokazał nam, że współcześnie gry indie wyglądają zupełnie inaczej niż jeszcze kilka lat temu, przez co chyba wypadałoby przemyśleć oficjalne wprowadzenie terminu “gier środka” do obiegu. Stawianie takiego Expedition 33 obok Silksonga wydaje się bowiem nieco nie na miejscu. Owszem, obie gry zapewne są cudowne, ale to trochę tak, jakby porównywać żaglowiec i skuter. Owszem, można, oba są bowiem wręcz niezbędnikiem życia na włoskim wybrzeżu, ale w gruncie rzecz – po co?
